strange my first reply didnt post.

I have been teaching auto for about a year now. I usually teach drafting, electronics and metalwork but they started the autoshop up after many years and asked me to teach it as well, as they know I have an automotive background as my dads a heavy duty mechanic and I have been wrenching since I was a kid, (plus when you become a shop teacher you have to take auto classes, thou they are a joke and I learned more from my dad in one day.) however my family has been mostly on Jeeps, I dont have much expereinces on the chevy small block (did own a 1/2 79 pickup truck and changed the carb on it, thou I think it was a big block..

All engine principles are mostly the same so I've got no problems adapting my jeep knowledge working on them.

I assumed I would need a new intake but I have seen the odd vehicle where the carbs are interchangable. I am waiting to hear from the track if a simple adaptor plate will be allowed but they may say there would be performance gains from 4 barrel carbs matching intake....
