    What is your Guess???

I am building a chevy small block right now and I was wondering if anyone has ever built something simular and knows about the horsepower I am looking at? I Bored the block over .030 flat top pistons compr. around 9.5/1 cam I believe has .450 lift and 220 duration with 76cc heads pocket ported with edelbrock performer intake and a 700 or 750 carb. not sure about the exhaust system yet. Just a ball park figure need anymore info. just let me know.

First off you would be hard pressed to get 9.5 compression ratio with flat top pistons and 76cc heads ...This is where you loose HP. With flat tops and a 64 cc head you will be really close to 10.1.

This would be a good start...another set of heads, preferably aluminum. 2.02 intake 1.60 ex. with a matching camshaft and intake.

Sorry about that it was a 350 and I am milling the heads down so it will be a little less than 76cc

Probably the best return on the dollar would be, as moter said, a good set of small chamber heads.... You would not only gain in compression, but also much improved flow in some performance type aluminum heads... Cubic inches and increased compression is still the best way to gain power....

That Build is 340 H.P 418 Ft-Lbs . And It Likes a camshaft with a Bit More Lift . If your Heads have screw in Studs and The Right Springs . Then it can Make over 350 H.P .

So you are saying the motor I have built is 340 HP and 418 FT-LBS. If so I have reached my goal in power and more than achieved my torque. I dont mean to start a fight but what would be a good carb (Brand) for this motor as far as fuel mileage and performance and maintanace? And if you dont mind me asking Tango were did you come up with those figures?
