New Build Coughs Out At Hi RPM

New build with edelbroch performer intake and edelbroch carb runs good to 4200-4400 rpm and quits, it blows gas back out the carb and just pukes. The timing is 36 Degrees at about 2500 rpm on the mechanical advance, it is also a new accell distributer. it is a mild comp cam but i dont have the specs in front of me. Any thoughts and recommendations are appreciated. TIA Tom

What quits? Ignition or fuel??? What kind of Accell and what kind of coil??? What size of Edelbrock carb???? Not a whole lot to go on.....

Its an accel Performance Billtech race part no. 60107c, A edelbroch 1406 600cfm out of the box new. I am not sure if its ignition or carb thats going away other than to say it sprays mist back out the carb at about 4500 rpm almost as if the valves are floating out but the heads are new as well so I dont think that would be the problem. Up until it goes away it runs good and strong, How can I tell if its carb or ignition? TIA Tom

What heads? Is it hydraulic lifters, and are they adjusted correctly? Could possibly be some valves too tight and hanging open, can act just like valve float....

What is the initial timing set at, and what is the total advance above 2500 rpm??? Lazy timing can also cause the same condition.....
