    Question 5.7 Vortec vs. LT-1

HELP!!!! I am going to buy a Jaguar XJS with a chevy engine conversion. I have narrowed my search down to 2. One has a stock LT-1 with a powerdyne supercharger (400+ HP) and the other has a 600CFM carbed 5.7 liter Vortec. I live in an emissions inspection area and the LT-1 already passes as it is local. The Vortec is in another state and doesn't even have catalytic converters. Which is the better engine (generally) and how hard would it be to get the vortec to pass emissions? BTW, the LT-1 car is $3000 more than the vortec powered but the vortec is a rare 1984 european verson convertable.

On the poll, a yes vote is for the LT-1, a no is for the vortec.
