Yes I have a vacume advance dist and I did move from ported to mamifold seamed to help. I do have a fan tried the fiber glass black fan and a factory looking steel and a very aggresive looking SS flex fan. Tested by how hard it held paper against grill, SS flex was best. I do have a shroud pretty much just a 2" deep box that covers the back of rad with a 18" hole for fan. With the Alt and the compresor above valve cover there is room for a 6-8" fan in uper drivers side. Thank and keep help comming.....Jim
