    fuel line for a 350

Running hard line from tank to motor, I heard 3/8 is the way to go, however my pickup at the tank has a fitting that fits 5/16 hard line line. Will 5/16 supply line be adequate? This is nothing high performance just a daily run around roadster. Thanks in Advance
