Typhoon...Too much math there for me.

Updated Info:

Our mechanic gave him the price for rebuilding the engine and trans. Now, why my dad didn't ask about crate motors I'm not sure he must have forgot. Our mechanic would ship the engine and trans to Jasper engines. The cost for the engine being rebuilt and I think installed would be $3,000 and the price for the Tranny would be $1,500. This seems like a lot to me. Couldn't we get a 350 for around $3,000 and a turbo trans or 700R4 automatic tranny for less then or around $1,500? With a crate motor what other accessories would we need? Like a distrubuter, starter etc. For example take a look at this link

http://www.sdpc2000.com/cart.asp?act...id=128&pid=103

This is the info:
1996-00 3/4 - 1 Ton Pick-Ups 5.7L / 350 GM Goodwrench Crate Engine
Price: $2,303.95

This engine would work without much modification right? And what accessories would I need?

Also there is this one:

http://www.sdpc2000.com/cart.asp?act...id=120&pid=115

330HP / 350 GM Performance Parts Crate Engine Assembly
Price: $2,299.90

What else would I need for this motor?

I realize that this price doesn't include installation but its still a newer motor with quite possibly more HP. Anyone know what HP my stock motor comes with?

Thanks,
Greg
