Grinding oil grooves in a 406
Im building a 406 for some street/strip action and want my valvetrain to live as long as possible. Ill be running a Comp Xtreme Roller camshaft with about 0.55 lift and will be running the Comp hydraulic retrofit roller lifters. I have heard of cutting a small groove down the lifter bore of the block to let extra oil get to the roller pin of the lifter. This trick is supposed to prolong lifter life and provide better oiling. Has anyone ever done this. Would you recommend it or should the standard oiling do the job? Comp sells a kit that allows any builder to do this at their home. Are there any drawbacks from cutting a fresh block with these grooves? Thanks!!!Supernova!
