    yes you are right. but some new heads i still mill and have had to rework the valve job on them but still in the long run you are getting a better head. there is alot of ways to go on a set of used heads and stock parts are very cheap on a sbc the iron head s are so cheap even i have every machine to do all the work on used heads i would have to think long and hard not to buy new casting .the only thing i would not do is buy them loaded so i can tune the deck and valve seats and hone the guilds were i want them
