Tango is just a little up-set because Dave is calling him out on his "tunning abilities".Quote:

This is only a guess.
Dave is a racer that has used some of the best parts out there and does not want to change because he knows what works.
Tango is a street/strip guy that will work with the parts he has at hand and modify them until he gets the results he is looking for.
Am I close on any of this??
This looks like a good way to end this fight . OK with me . :)
GUYS! i didnt mean it like that u all just took it the wrong way in form # 23 i ment built it. Not but it i just wanted to get this cleared up and help thats all.Erik i didnt mean no harm i just spelled it wrong or mind just was som where else sorry.NOW THATS ALL CLEARED UP LET TALK SBC 400.THANKS
Ya know what guys??? I would venture to say I can tune my combo's better then most.... We run two cars in the 9.90 class and can back to back for four rounds a day plus or minus a few hundredths..... Two entirely different engines, one is a roller cammed 501 incher with Edelbrock CNC'd heads and a 750 Dominator flowing a real 815 CFM. The other is a solid lifter engine with John Kasse designed Cobra Jet heads running a 557 incher with a 1050 Dominator flowing 1095 CFM. The big engine runs a glide, the little engine runs a C6. Entirely different tune up parameters for each engine and both must be adjusted and calibrated to allow for changes in track and weather conditions..... So, because I get some of my parts built in Pro Shops and don't pretend to know it all, I'm not a tuner?????Quote:

If that makes me a dummy, then call me stupid I guess.......
Man I built a Chevelle 4 door with a budget 350 that ran high 12s with no spray . And I drove it to work for three years . And street raced it on the weekend's . Man you should see the Look on the face of a 5.0 guy . when you beat him with a 4 door Chevy   COOL
Don't give me the used to have and beat this car or that!!!!! What are you building RIGHT NOW that will be a racer. Some of my projects are in my gallery pics...... Would of, could of, should of just don't cut it!!!! If you're not moving forward then ya must be backing up!!!! Last time I ran a 12 was when the coil went FUBAR shortly after getting into high gear!!!!Quote:

When I said engine tuner I was refering to someone "tuning an engine" on a dyno not a reference to a import car guy in any way shape or form.Quote:

Take a look at the pics of that Camaro and Tom's coupe. There is one heck of a lot of hand formed sheet metal under there!!! Not many people would have even started on Tom's coupe because of it's condition!!!! I'm doing it for the challenge!!!!]Quote:

When the pickup and Camaro are done and gone I have 2 other projects coming in that will help pay for next year's new car. In my spare time I'll build one or two more of my own projects to finish and sell so I can buy a couple more engines... I don't have a life other then cars. I don't drink, don't take vacations, don't go to movies, don't go bowling, I don't do anything but work in my little garage seven days a week for as many hours as a disabled old man can endure!!!! Just finished my taxes, on the line that asks "occupation" I put Hot Rodder, same thing I've put on that line for 30 years!!!!! So, next time you're ready to have a chuckle on my account because I spend big bucks on the best parts, take time to ask yourself if you'd be willing to do what I do to go fast????
But I could use some help when it comes to body work :pQuote:

Stefanik Leads Qualifying For Made In America Whelen 300 - Martinsville Speedway 0.8169
Mike Stefanik came within an eyelash of the track record Friday night on the way to winning the pole for the Made In America Whelen 300 NASCAR Modified race at Martinsville Speedway. Stefanik turned in a fast lap of 100.547 mph (18.833 seconds) to capture the pole for Saturday night's Made In America Whelen 300. Fifty cars attempted to qualify for Saturday night's race, which will start 43 cars.
The "ricer-burner" rap came up because when I say "tuner" some people might think of a guy changing chips in his computer on his car.Quote:
