I think that is a real cool S/J build . And I did help a friend build a 327 by boring a 283 block to 4" and running a 327 S/J crank . That engine ran well and did not run hot .

That's good because all the 1962 and later 283 blocks have reliefs cast into the lower end of the block where the barrels meet the block webbing . This allowed the use of the longer 3.25 stroke crank . So you can make your 302 a 327 COOL ;)Quote:
