    crankcase pressure relief

     



    Hey guys, I am building a high hp/high torque sbc stroked to 383 cu in. I want to run without any breathers or pvc valves in my valve covers. I would rather not run a vacuum pump. I read in these pages about running pvc valves in the intake manifold. I did a couple of searches but no luck. Has anyone had success with this concept?

    Buick Motor Car Company did pretty well with a PCV straight down through the intake manifold behind the carb and directly into the valley.

    You don't want to plug into any runners or the plenum which are under a vacuum most times.
    The PCV pulls crankcase air from the valley.

    You'll probably need a baffle of some sort to keep from sucking the good oil out.

    And a filtered air supply for air make-up into the valley.


    Do a search for PCV etc.
    It was covered in some depth within the last six months.

    Seems to me I remember building an engine or two which had a PCV in the intake manifold tray. Pontiac?

    Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.
