existing cam or one you're looking at?
the one im looking at, already posted one i had in there,. the 1st cam i had i had the oll .493 .512 offroad z cam ran good then, then i switched to the .500 .300 single profile it was ok, but didnt have the top end oomph the other did had more down low.
Trying to lower the compression with a thicker head gasket will undoubtedly make the problem worse as the quench will be totally screwed up. There should be .035-.045 quench if you are going to get the most efficient burn in the combustion chambers.Quote:
First, is the piston 0 decked?? and how far if it is?? a .120 dome is fine with the 68cc holly's or the 75cc afr. the 64cc eddys are pushing is. the cam is fine with the combo but the loss in stroke from the 350 to 327 will lose torque. if you can get 92-94 octane fuel then 10.5 will be fine. because the short block is already togather the worse thing could happen is it wont run on pump gas at full timing. if this happens and i'm 99.9% sure it wont then you will have to pull the heads and put a thicker head gasket on it. companys like flatout, sce, and others make head gaskets in .040, .050, .060, .070. so it's realy no big deal if it's off.it can be fixed. but like i said your fine if you stay 68cc or bigger on the chamber.
My this thread got big over the weekend!
It would be very helpful if people would post their goals for a particular vehicle when asking about engine builds. That way more accurate information can be passed along. It is a waste of time responding in good faith when it is not applicable. Thanks.
got the rings finally WOO HOO assembly tomorrow !!!!!!!!!!!
.512 .536 duration at 050 262 273 what do you think pat, erik, dave ?
that should work
This a great cam to run with a double hump head.Quote:

I would also run a 5,000 stall and a brake.
I would try a Victor with a 1 inch spacer and flowed 650 carb.
