Small journal 327 built to 383?
Anyone have any experience with one of these builds? There is a 3.75" stroke small journal crank made that will do a 327 to 383 build, but I was wondering about crank clearance or other problems?"On a r-e-e-e-e-al,,,,qu-i-i-i-i-i-et night,,,,,,,,(whisper),,,,,,,, you can hear a Ford rust!!!"

It can be done without any problem. We have done one few years ago in a 67 corvette with original 327 block.

Eric,I called you sir because of your knowledge and experience, which I admire.Thats not a kiss-up,,,,but I think many of us enjoy the 'somewhat' friendly,tasking/questioning you put out,,,not too offensive and actually keeps this website active and interesting."On a r-e-e-e-e-al,,,,qu-i-i-i-i-i-et night,,,,,,,,(whisper),,,,,,,, you can hear a Ford rust!!!"

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
