Maybe for now you should consider an engine more in line with your income, and leave the trick, small cube, hi rpm stuff for some day when you're rich and famous!!!! A 9.5 to 1 400+ cube small block stroker will last a whole lot more passes, turn more consistent et's and probably cost less to build. Even if the cost were the same, it comes out to fewer $$$$$ per pass with the big inch low rpm engine..... Just simple math Scooter, not a put down or an opinion....

if big inch low rpm is cheaper is that why big blocks dont cost less? im just saying, in my area i can find 327's and 283's for darn near if not for free. i mean moving to a 327 is like an OMG for me
dont get me wrong, if i was going to build a stroker id build a 377

gasser, they might not be cheaper but you will have a far better combo for the same money... i can put a 400sbc togather for around 5500-6000 that will run 11.5s in a 3800# car. there's know way you can do that with a 283-327.

thats cause a 3800 pound car is the wrong car for those motors

Scooter, reread the whole thing....even if the engine costs more, it will last longer.... more passes per dollar....racing longer for the same money is what it's all about, not bragging rights on the tattletale for the tach.... I like high winders too. but dollar for dollar, a big inch engine is cheaper....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

A big inch engine is great in a big car, but it's even better in a light car!!!!!

Even my 496 with a 200 shot of N20 is a crazy ride on a 9 inch wide drag radial.

Hmmm. Well, guess I'd sure like to hear how to add 200 horse to an already well built engine that is even close to the amount of money it takes to add nitrous!!!!! This "all throttle, no bottle" argument kind of failed when they came out with all the good nitrous systems... Or maybe you just don't like going fast with an affordable product???? Sure do wish I could afford to be that much of a purist!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
