    Opinions on Shafiroff Crate Motors???

.....Hi Everyone, Does anyone have or know anyone has a Scott Shafiroff Crate Motor??? Just wondering what kind of experience you/they have had. My '32 isn't fast enough & this would probably do the 'trick' .... Thanks, Bill

    I would build a 540/565.
More hp/torque than the small block.
For the difference in money buy the 540/565 bolt on a plate on N20 and go!!!

Then when you get used to that horsepower, put it in your wife's car and get one of these!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

.....Eric & Pat, THANKS for the good advice. Yes after thinking about it I see that for the same money I'd get a lot more HP & TQ. It just seemed easier to put a small block in cuz it's already set up for one.....

.....LOL, good one Dave, not only is your comment/picture funny but it brings up a really good point. Which is, going up a 130-160 HP/TQ would only be enough for a short period of time. And for $14 g's I should get more HP/TQ than that.....

.....What I think I'll do is hook up nitrous on my current engine. That'll be the cheapest way to 'experience' more

    THANKS, Bill

You could buy me the engine and I'll test it out for you.

Extremely probable. My glass 32 had tons of tunnel room including firewall recess for 350/TH350 Chevy. I had to enlarge the tunnel and I am using every mil of the distributor relief with the 502/TH400.

    Big blocks rule though ..............
