X-Rods
I just found a box with some 350 rods in it with a "X" cast on the rod caps. Are these the well known x-rods, and if so, what's the advantage to them? Thanks.Chuck Hoffman

They are just a heavier, stonger rod then some of the others.

One thing to remember is by the time you re-size the big and small end, install good ARP bolts, polish the side beams and then send out to be shot peened you might as well buy a set of the after market rods.

Good rod Chuck, O's second and B's next. X's do have a touch more durabilty, very similiar to the old "Pink" rods. What if the "Hokey Pokey" is what it's really all about?

I agree with Erik. They are good stock rods, but if you're planning on hitting high rpm's, aftermarket rods are the best bargain. The stock rod bolts won't hold up, and it'll cost just as much to change them, you can get some scat I-beam rods for like $250. ARP bolts already installed.

It would be nice if this up and down crap would cease.
