It's not really a good practice to run used flat tappet lifters on a new cam.... IMO you would be money ahead to get a cam and lifters package and start out with all new components as opposed to a new cam and old lifters......Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I wouldn't do that either..... $100.00 for a cam and lifters, why risk running the filings from a wiped out lobe through the rest of the engine and killing the hole thing. Cam and lifters can be reused, as long as the same lifters go back on the same lobe, no problem there but using new cam old lifters or vice versa is begging for trouble....
