flexplate question
Does a 168 tooth flexplate need a different starter than a 153 tooth?I have been told yes and no.

you could use a mini style starter that has 4 bolt holes , they will work on both size flexplates ...they cost anywhere from $100.00 - $230.00" SEE YA at the FINISH LINE " ! ........ratso

Yes, you'll need the starter with the offset mounting bolt holes.

Along with offset on the starter being matched up to the flexplate (one piece campared to two peice main seals), The starter drive does have a different tooth count to accomodate the flex plate tooth count.
