    '61 Chevy Tranny Swap

I'm getting ready to swap a 350/350 combo into my '61 chev bubbletop. It currently has a 283/powerglide in it. What do I need to do to make this swap work? How much will I need to take out of the driveshaft, etc., etc., etc.???

That's a given...my 350 is 28" long... does that make it a short, medium or long shaft???

I mis-spoke, the car is set up for the old cast iron powerglide...I don't actually have that tranny , that's just what the shift pattern indicates to me. Is there anyway to find out the length old powerglides...any reference books that might have that measurement?
