Did you check the centrifugal advance in your distributor to see that it asn't sticking ? Be easier to pull the distributor cap and see if the rotor snaps back after grabbing the rotor and twisting the advance forward.

It does happen that the the cetrifugal advance sticks, seizes or is not working right.
