    Oil Leak Help

    Hi,

Had a hopefully quick question for you. Did a head gasket change on my 383 stroker not to long ago and since then i have developed an oil leak that appears to originate around the oil pressure sending unit.

Initially I removed the intake and resealed the front and back. Then i went a little simpler when the problem persisted and messed with oil pressure sending unit. Found it a little loose so i added some RTV to it for good measure and re tightened. This did not work either. The only other thing i could think of that happened was when i put the intake back on it pinched the oil pressure line between it and the block. I inspected the line and couldn't find any problems. But i'm still considereing replacing it at this point since i'm a little lost as to which direction to go from here. I'm looking for any suggestions as to where I should look next.

    The block is a 1975ish

Hope this made at least a little sense

    Thanks Sam

    hope this made since

Maybe distributor gasket. If sending unit is electric I've seen the unit itself leak.

    Okay,

Thanks for the replys i was leaning towards the line , it is a mechanical sender. Now for my dumb question, which i hate to ask, does the distributer gasket go between the distributor and the intake, or between the intake and block. For some reason i am confused on where it should be, the earlier post got me thinking, there wasn't anything where the distributor meets the intake, but it would be obvious what the problem was if the gasket was supposed to be between the block and intake. Now i'm wondering if me being an idiot is to blame
