The way I see it these days VERY few people have the balls to try new things and look outside the box. New trends dont start by doing what every other joe bubba can do with a open bank account and half a brain.
Yes, I could go V8 but I have been there done that a few times with very very good luck. The main reason for me going with the 4.3 and Twin Turbo is size & pounds its going in a 240Z Datsun.
Yes I know all too well V-8s fit. But thats far to much LBS for the Z to still be good in the turns. I have put miles on a few V8 Z's and there far to front heavy.
I am looking for anyone that has done a hot 4.3. Any extra info up front would be helpfull . The way I understand it the 4.3 is just a 350 with the front two cyl. cut off. I know about the early 4.3 with the balance shaft.
I just had a 5.7 & 4.3 side by side down to bare block. I didnt see anything that didnt match. I used a T gauge and found a match other then .015 for the CYL. size.
The main thing I am looking for is info on custom cranks and camshafts. The way I see it I am just going to get the parts I want. Pistons rods lifters and so on for a 5.7 and have spare parts left over and prob. for less then if it was ordered for a v-6.
