maximum cubes
whats the most cubic inches you can get out of a stock 400 small block? is it possible to stuff a 4.00 stroke crank into .060 bore 400 and get 434 cubes or how about 3.87 stroke crank in a .060 and make 422 cubes. whats require ? small base circle camshafts, rod grinding, block grinding?

Small base circle cam.
.060 over bore and you are building a bomb.

Bolt a blower on a 350 and go faster than any 434, for a lot longer period of time.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.

I would trust your .125 283 if it where done correctly before I would trust a .060 over 400 block.
I have sonic tested a bunch of them over the years and all the ones I tested scared me.
Plus the siamese cylinders are not the greatest with hot spots etc.
This becomes worse at .060 over.

If it's a GM production block, you'll likely hit water before you get enough clearance for the 4in stroke. Try to keep the overbore to .030" also. Cylinders start getting really thin and close after that. My block sonic tested good enough for 4.170 overbore but I kept it at 4.155. I also had alot of clearancing to do to get the 3.875 stroke to clear. A small base circle is needed for sure and I still had minimum clearance on the cam.RAY
