    350 Roller lifters -help

    Well,

Just to re-cap, got this project after sitting 15yrs, the motor which is a SBC crate motor ZZZ, it got it started but need to re-build the carb, did that got it running but miss fired like as SOB, found out it was the Crossfire cap, replaced it with a stock cap, problem gone. Now it starts fine. The problem is that the roller lifters seem noisy.

Are roller lifters some what noisy, maybe it just me, adjusted the valves with the motor running and they all seem to be fine, not to tight or loose. Had a mechanic friend help me has done many of these so I think we got the valves OK. Did an oil change before start up, oil the lifters before start up, when you give it some gas it seems to go away.

Also on the trans side of it how many qrts of fluid should a 700r4 take after a filter change, I up to adding 7 qtrs and still show low, did a lot of fluid leak down after sitting all this time?

    Regards,

    Steve

You didn't mention whether they are solid rollers or hydralic rollers. Obviously if they are solid, they will make noise. By using the method of the car running and then adjusting the rockers, it would seem that they are hydralic and NO, they usually do not make noise. If you have aluminum rockers, they will make noise

A filter change, if the torgue converter is full, can take 8-10 quarts.
Objects in my rear view mirror are a good thing unless,.... they have red and blue lights flashing.
