    Question lt1 ground pounder

ive got a 94 lt1 its all stock with steel heads... i was thinking about puting stock corvette heads on it but even a greasy set is pretty pricy.. i would also like to change the cam but not sure what i should do.. i would like to get around 400 hp out of it.. it going to be a daily driver so nothing to crazy would be fine.. i just want it to get out of its own way..
    thanks
    Harmon

whats so special about corvette heads on your motor? If the corvette heads that your talking about are LT1 heads, then they probably flow the same. If your talking about an early style set of vette heads, they won't work, because LT1's have reverse cooling. you just want to save your bucks and buy a nice set of edelbrock, Trick flow or AFR LT1 heads they all flow a lot more and with a good roller cam, 400hp is in the neighborhood, good luck with your project

thats what i was wondering if newer vette heads where any better or if i should just go after market.. someone told me that the vette heads where the hot ticket. i also was told to use the lt4 cam.. but if any of you guys have messed with the lt1 let me know what to do please..

    THANKS

I pretty sure corvette LT1 heads aren't any better than the heads you got right now. LS1 corvette heads are way better, but they won't fit the LT1 series motors. I would just go off with the AFR or trick flow, that way you don't waste your time finding (vette) heads that flow the same, and you don't waste your money, You could use LT4 heads with LT4 hotcam which is a good package. But you have to use an LT4 intake, because the LT4 heads have higher intake ports. I just would use AFR's or Trick flow LT1's with LT4 hot cam and that way you can use your factory intake, which is good over 425hp. probably one of the cheapest bank for the buck! plus AFR heads are the best in the market, most of their heads out lowed brodix heads
