Help me identify my parts ( and other Q's)
I bought an 85 monte carlo ss with what should be a 350 engine and a TH700R4 transmission w/ 3.73 gears in the rear.
This is my first rebuild of an engine and I am trying to figure out exactly what
I have.
What I know I have:
750 Holley Double Pumper (Came with it. I switched to a 650 edelbrock becuase it seemed to get be drowning and ran better afterwards)
350 block w/ 4-bolt mains 68-79
Pistons stamped with
"7070P .030
Speed Pro
HT 16 3-4"
Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold
Rockers - 1.5 - non-roller
What I don't Know:
Cam - Has CWC marked on shaft and 1014R stamped on the end - I did a google and came up with this: Speed-pro 278`-.443" lift cam (CS-1014R)
Crankshaft no idea how to identify
Heads - I have done searching on the internet and I cannot find any thing that matches the numbers on it. Number Pattern Like so:
93 S/R
W NH
113 1-052
Does this sound like it might be a 383 stroker?
I am begining to think so from the cam, pistons and carb that it came with.
How can I be sure? What measurments can I make to be sure?
Otrher questions:
I have torn down the heads to jsut valves left and they get stuck on the top most lip. How should I remove these? Can I pound them out? It seems like my only option. I got 3 out by hand.
Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the tip! So does that mean that the rockers should be changed out? They seem to be plain steel stamped rockers. I'm not positive as to what they are, but would a higher ratio on rockers make a difference? How would I compensate for such a high cam lift?
