    well what kind of motor are you looking for here? daily driver? race? street strip? one of the old 301's we had 11:1 cast pistons stock rods and crank a 280h comp cam <the old 280h grind> with a set of 1.94 1.6 it ran 13.1 every single time and drove like a charm on the street with a 600 holley.

    KB flat top pistons, Vortec heads, Edelbrock RPM or AirGap intake, Edelbrock 600 cfm carb, CompCams XE-262 hydraulic cam, roller rockers, ARP rod bolts, and a head gasket no thicker than .020 if the block has not been decked.
