wouldn't let gaskets hold me up to much. i'd get a piece of gasket material and cut them myself. you didn't say what dist. you had but its probably got mechanical adv. built into it. 30 total sounds a little slow, i'd kick it up a little and try that.

whats is you base timing? (timing without dist hooked up at 800 rpm..) what is you timing with vac. at the dist. at 800 rpm? what is you timing, vac hooked up at 2000 rpms? get this info and ill be back later or someone else will help you. you should have a mech adv. without vac. hooked up.

I used to run a stock HEI with an adjustable vaccuum advance. I had some problems with it. I talked to a guy that builds engines and I was advised to cap or lockout the vaccuum advance and put the lightest mechanical advance springs I could find. I then set the initial timing at 15 degrees and total of 32 to 36 degrees all in at idle. Believe it or not it works. Blowers like advance and lots of it. As far as gaskets, call Holley. They bought B&M years ago. You can even go to Kragen Auto Parts and order the gaskets. I have ordered parts for my B&M Powercharger 250 there.Last edited by blwn31; 07-11-2006 at 11:04 PM.
