Ihave a set of aluminum rods for a small journal crank. Can I have them resized to fit a large journal crank?

NO ! you will hit the rod bolts before you get it out to the large journal size, and then you will have to rebalance"aerodynamics are for people who cant build engines"

if why not cut the crank for the small rod if you could size them bigger you would need to find i rod boring machine or a brigeport with aboring head and when all said and done it would be much cheaper to buy a new set of rodsIrish Diplomacy ..the ability to tell someone to go to Hell ,,So that they will look forward to to the trip
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
