hey guys cant find old post on spark plug resistance per foot ? got two plugs not firing, changed plugs & wires,rotor &cap and module and coil, new distributor from jegs.wonder if wires to long?350 chevy crate engine.also it is
#2 and #7 last in firing order ?

I think for resistance wires it's up to 7000 ohms per foot.
i get a reading of 65 on the 200k scale ? soup

most car manufacturers allow resistance up to 2000-3000ohms per foot, but high performance wires get MUCH lower
IMHO 2 to 3k per foot is UNACCEPTABLE and Accell super stock have that problem and it gets worse with age. My advice would be to trash the wires and buy some Moroso, MSD, Taylor spiral core, etc.
The resistance is for radio noise suppresion. Most engines in the past 50 years use resistance plugs to generate the resistance and use low resistance wires. But, since he mentioned resistance wire I thought I would throw out a typical number for a resistance wire.
hey guys thanks for info , just replaced two wet plugs and went for a ride , started out good ,but when i got back two plugs are wet and six others are carbuned up,got bright white slightly yellow spark on all,i have eldlebrock 600 on it (brand new ) my wet plugs might be jet problem? why two are wet and rest slightly black ? soup
mixture on carb set with lean drop method and i have steady 19 on vac gauge ,but spark has yellowish colour to it , got another coil to try let you know what happens

If you went from points to electronic ignition, you need to get rid of the ballast resistor.
no i pulled 305 put in 350crate engine, everything on 350(chevy) is new,1984 el camino,engine has been fussy,changed carb,dist. manifold(intake)fuel pump,may have tp put another set of better wires on and change ac plugs to ngk iridium ?

I don't believe the plugs are the problem, the Accell wires are.
I hate to hammer Accell, bit I've had two of their super coils fail and three of their Super Stock plug wires sets with up to 15k resistance in individual wires. The Super Coils do make good bookends though. :( :LOL: :LOL:
i dont think i know too many people that have had an accel part last them more than a month
