    The thing that looks like a giant oil sensor on the side of the block is the knock sensor....usually on the passenger side. You can remove it and put a plug in the hole if you dont have a knock sensor wire.

    For the oil cooler, you can remove the adapter and install a regular Chevy oil filter adapter in the block....go to the Chebbie dealer and he will sell you the oil filter adapter, an o-ring and two bolts for about $10. DO NOT leave the cooler adapter in place and plug the two lines.....kinda slows down your oil flow.

    This adapter mounts a spin-on cartridge oil filter. It contains a filter bypass valve.

    Technical Notes: Use with 5.7L High Output engine assembly. Requires two attaching bolts P/N 3951644.
