I have a 1968 chevy pick up truck with a 327. I have the old type cantester old filter on it. I, so far have been unable to find an adater to use a scerw on type filter. But I got to thinking about it. There is a metal piece that scerws up into the block that the filter fits on. Is it possible that all I have to do is go to a junk yard and find a later model small block and take that piece off of it. In other words, when they change the oil filter type. They only change the piece that fits into the block. And not the block itseft? Thanks John.
