I replaced my intake gaskets, used sealer on top and bottom of the gaskets and .. now what? the "water" doesn't smell like anti-freeze, and yes i even tasted it to make sure it wasn't. it tastes bitter. can anyone help explain what this might be?
Could it be from when I replaced the gasket wrong and it was just just shooting out anti-freeze and now i fixed it the 2nd time? is it just blowing out all the old anti-freeze from the first mistake?
by exhaust do u mean from the head? from the tailpipes? where is the exhaust coming from?
sorry, at the tail pipes.
its possible that its just water. moisture does collect in the tailpipes...
Yup, good point... Is it just at start up, or does it do it after a half hours driving time or so??? Are you having to add water to the cooling system, if so, how much????Quote:

Well she sat for about a week and when i got done running her for about 15 minutes i checked my radiator, and she's still at the brim with water.
After setting for a week in cool, damp night air, there would be a lot of condensation in the exhaust system. To make sure it isn't a leak, you could pressure test your cooling system, most shops and some parts stores have the tester. Better to be safe then sorry!!!!
is there any other way to tell that it isn't a leak? I mean when i'm done running my motor i do have a radiator cap that has a valve on it, and whenever i lift that leaver it has pressure on it like it did before i had this problem..
not only that, engines have a cool chemicle reaction that makes water when an engine is cold, so b4 warm up, a little water coming out the pipes is probably just the motor doing what it is supposto. it will go away once warmed up

TRY THIS: DRILL A LITTLE HOLE IN YOUR MUFFLER(S) AT THE REAR BELOW THE EXIT PIPE EITHER ABOVE OR BELOW THE LOWER LIP AND PARK THE CAR ON AN UPHILL SLANT. YOU MIGHT BE SURPRISED HOW MUCH H20 COMES OUT. MINE LEFT A PUDDLE ABOUT 10'' IN DIA. AFTER LIVING A SEASON IN LAKE TAHOE.. OH YEAH, WELD IT BACK UP IF YA DONT WANT THE FUNNY SPUTTERING NOISE
Everyone say's I am a smarta-- but my brother is worse.We where at the drag-strip about 15 years ago and a guy had to be towed back to the pits.We walked up to the car and he had water running out the header on the drivers side.My brother say's "I think I have found the problem" and takes the apple he is eating and shoves it right in the collector.Then my brother say's "I have fixed it.It won't leak anymore water"The look on that guy's face was priceless.He did'nt know If he wanted to laugh or punch my brother in the face.Later my brother felt bad and took him new head gaskets.Then the guy was really confused.Two years later they became partners on a rail dragster.The rest as they say is history.
It's probably just condensation from your symptoms IMO.
If your engine was burning water you would see it BIG TIME in reduction of coolant in the system. Do you have aluminum cylinder heads, and have you had a bad overheat recently? If not it's just condensation.
Sampling the water dripping out is hard-core dude! I'd probably just put some in neighbor's cat water bowl and see if it has glycol in it! (Just kidding of course!) **)
Or send it to Pat or Erik for testing ;)

the less common situation, you could have water in your gas if it sat for that long. The engine would probably spit that water out the tail if it was considering that water isn't flamable...Thats just a less common situation though.
