It will work if you race it "mildly". Weekends on the track won't be a problem, but if you're planning to run it more often, then you'll be needing better heads, the Darts would have been very good value for the money.
And there's no way you can run this on pump gas, you'll need either racing fuel or you might just try with premium, depending on the octane rating. That is, if your pistons are flat-top, then you'll have over 11:1 CR. With iron heads that's too much.
