    The black wire in the picture is an extension of the blue wire coming from the regulator. I will switch them to color coordinate later. Sorry for the confusion. Here is a picture of the voltage regulator. I guess I'm concerned about what would happen if I just switched the plug wires at the alternator (blue and black) before asking someone about it.
