FOR THE MONEY THIS KIT LOOKS FINE.RICHARD HAS A VERY GOOD POINT.IT HAS TAKEN ME 20 YEARS OF ENGINE BUILDING AND COUNTLESS HOURS OF THERAPY NOT TO (OVER-BUILD) AN ENGINE.ALSO I HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT NOT EVERYONE IS GOING TO PULL THE STICK AT 8,500 R.P.M.'S. ON THE FREEWAY.OH' BY THE WAY I WAS JUST KIDDING ABOUT THE THERAPY OR WAS I?Originally posted by techinspector1
I know there are those who will disagree with me because of the rod length, but for a down-and-dirty budget rebuild, I think it would be hard to beat the budget 383 kit from Speed-O-Motive.....

Juggle gasket thickness and deck to achieve a piston/head clearance of around 0.040". You wouldn't have to fart around with clearancing the rods at the cam either.

It would be nice if this up and down crap would cease.
