OK
I've done a lot of reading on the subject and it would seem clear that "tuning" for a particular set of modifications via a "cookie cutter" chip swap is not likely to result in a high level of optimization.
It would appear however that the stock ECM IS capable of "self-adjusting" to modifications so long as they do not exceed stock tuning limitations, correct?
So I guess I'll just have to see if my modifications are going to exceed the capabilities of the stock ECM. If so, I guess I'm geeky enough to start down the path of custom chip burning.
My original question was intended to seek out anyone that has already done something similar and hopefully discover from their experience if my intended mods were going to exceed the stock tuning limitations - but after much reading on custom tuning the ECM it seems that relying on stock programming is not necessarily the most efficient thing to do for even a stock motor!Last edited by MainCap; 10-31-2005 at 05:50 PM.

time for a new forum to visit. when they sold sr.com it went down hill fast. no more forum just a cheap site selling junkie cars. the canadians killed hr.com. mods are real pricks. as with any site...
Where is everybody?
