Rocker arm retaining nuts are designed to stay in place for thousands of miles - millions, may be billions of cycles. And unlike a nut that is pulled up tight against a solid surface, rocker arm nuts are located somewhere on a stud. So yes, the engineers have established a very tight interface with the studs. It takes a little torque to screw them down. But once in place they don't move.An Old California Rodder
