I'm building a 383 stroker for low rpm torque and streetability, and decided against the vortecs simply because I want to keep my compression at 9:1 static so I can run on 89-92 octane. I bought a set of assembled Dart Iron Eagles 72cc/180cc. It's my understanding that with aluminum you can go a little higher on the compression due to the better cooling characteristics of the metal.
10:1 on pump gas for aluminum.
