As I recall the book you are talking about covers 10 different engine builds using low cost options. Some, like knurling stock pistons to tighten up skirt clearance, do not appeal to me. But they are accepted techniques that can save you a bundle on parts and machine work when you are confronted with minor wear.

I have not built an engine to one of his "formulas". What I like about tyhe book is that he explains what he is doing and why and he goes into detailing and blueprinting for power.

I've never met David. But I would take his advice over that of most Chevy "experts" around here.
