S10. Thanks I love a picture over an explanation. That pic makes perfect sense to me. I think I'll just go ahead and buy a new set of valve covers. I was looking at a set of GM licensed products. They are short style aluminum and have the old timey chevrolet script in the tops. Each cover has a hole. Dammit though, I sure liked the look of the old corvette covers.
