OH OH .... I JUST went through this....... Mine was doing the same thing. Tried many different solutions that didnt work for more than 2 days. I ended up ordering a Powermaster starter #9526 3holes for staggerd pattern SBC. I ordered mine from jegs; the price seemed avg. It bolted right up, no shems needed (it did come with some though). It's been on there for just over 2 weeks, and no more problems... so far. I drive it every day to work so its been well used for the time It's been on.
