In 1969 the 327 was just a 2 barrel engine.

You may have had a 350 engine from 1969. Casting numbers don't tell the whole story as sometimes the same basic casting was machined for different applications.
You will see some castings that were 2 or 4 bolt mains. I think in 69 the 350 and 327 used the same block casting.
I know some Vettes and medium duty trucks still had a small jornal crank in 68, GM must have been useing up late 67 parts in some early 68 productions.
