    It's not an LT1.
    I have a picture of the front:


    After searching a little more, I've been told that the cooling water actually is flowing the same direction as on the earlier engines.

    But because of serpentine belt instead of v-shaped belt, the pump goes in the opposite direction.

    Since I must rebuild all the brackets anyway and not intend to have power steering and AC, I just change to a v belt driven setup and use the ordinary, short pump.
