I have a 92 model 350 small block who I intend to use in my '34 Ford.
This engine has a reversed direction on the cooling water compared to the earlier engines.
Where can I get a short waterpump with reversed direction on the cooling water flow?
Or can I just use a short waterpump with the "normal" direction on the flow and simply change the engines water flow direction?

Edelbrock carries reverse rotation and standard rotation pumps for SBC. The LT1 is a different pump all together and will not fit on other 350 SBC engines.
Yes. I have seen the Edelbrock pump. For som reason it is only listed for 91 models and older. Anyone who know if this is correct?
Will this reverse water flow thing makes it hard for me to find an aftermarket hot rod radiator?
The "reverse" rotation pumps that are commonly sold are for serpentine systems, not the reverse flow blocks.
Somewhere (other than a rest room wall), you should be able to verify IF your engine can run with the flow changed to the common direction. However, you need to find someone who has fiddled with these to see what clearance issues are involved with the pump change.

You need to compare the stock LT1 engine length with that of an earlier engine....you might be going thru this whole exercise and find that you dont save any length!!
Apparently ya got a gen 1 350 if its got a belt driven pump, So go a head and get ya an early short water pump and you'll be just fine... the later model pump just uses a reversed impeller because the way the serpintine belt routes....
nope, he has an LT1 with a gear driven water pump and the distributor on the front of the engine.....no provision for driving the distributor in the back.
It's not an LT1.

After searching a little more, I've been told that the cooling water actually is flowing the same direction as on the earlier engines.
But because of serpentine belt instead of v-shaped belt, the pump goes in the opposite direction.
Since I must rebuild all the brackets anyway and not intend to have power steering and AC, I just change to a v belt driven setup and use the ordinary, short pump.
