    Question Generator swap

     



    I have a stock 283 SB chevy It is a 1958. It has the original generator on it and i was wondering what is involved to switch to an alternator? is it very hard? what if anything would it change?

    ok done this on GM stuff but , is there anything special I should know befor I switch the gen/to Alt in my 64 ford (390)? .... would guess the process needs to be "AbouT " the same ? or did Furd do something wildly diffrent in there wiring ?
    And anybout got a part number or know a model that will swap out easy ....

    still learning lots about furds .....
