    Yeah, you can get the lifter out through the front cover opening. You either got a faulty piece or didn't break it in right. Use lots of assembly lube and run it at 1500-2000 RPM for ten minutes or so, right from startup. Most cams that fail are wrecked in the first ten seconds after first running.

    We'll try to get that lifter out fron the front, but I'm not sure. This is a deep 8 quart pan and it won't slide because of the way it is built. I just might have to pull the pan. Wouldn't hurt anyway just to check things out a bit. Unfortunately I am not sure I can get that pan off while it is in the car. We'll see.
