Maybe I've been living in a lead mine, but this is the first time I've ever heard of filling the steam holes in a 400. Sounds like a really bad idea to me. Usually when fitting OEM non-400 or aftermarket heads to a 400, you must drill steam holes in the heads to match the ones in the block deck or the motor will overheat.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.

A first for me also. Never heard of that before. I agree with techinspector1 Pretty sure it will melt down if you do.Originally posted by techinspector1

I remember reading something about plugging holes in the 400 deck to strengthen it, but I don't believe it was any of the steam holes.I intend to live forever; so far, so good.

I believe that would be using screw-in plugs in the freeze plug holes.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.
