    Whipple Supercharger??? Anyone???

     



    Hi Everyone, Has anyone on the board had {or known anyone who's had} any experience using the Whipple Superchargers??? I'm considering one on my small block Chev. and was wondering what to expect.... Thanks, Bill

    ps, 415 small block, 195 AFR aluminum heads, 1 5/8" headers, cam is 224/234 @ .50 with 525 lift, 9.5 to 1 compression. 438 HP @5200 & 499 Ft. Pounds @ 4000 RPM {flywheel dyno}.....

    Check with Whipple to make sure you cam will work right with a supercharger. Most supercharger cams have a higher LSA angle. You didn't post yours.

    9.5 c.r. is too high for a blower.

    He is right you would probably have to go with water or metahanol injection to run much boost at all...cam specs would help some cams help bleed off compression better than others!

    Thanks everyone, excellent link to blower articles! yes, the CR is to high, you are right. I guess I was trying to fool myself? hummm, not sure of the LSA angle, I lost the cam card long ago. I just have the lift and duration memorized..... But the bottom line is that I need to NOT supercharge this engine ..... TOO many negitives.... Thanks again! Bill
